Waterloo is a small place about 25 miles NE from Madison, WI, north of I-94. It is home to the only remaining installation we know, of large linear fluorescent fixtures used for roadway lighting. These are Westinghouse fixtures, and are in very good condition.

Just round the back of one of the buildings at the intersection of N Monroe and E Madison (the centre of town) there is this fixture lighting the parking lot. An old Westinghouse book reveals this to be a "Mainstreeter" 2HUS-72 fixture, for two 6 foot tubes.

Another shot of the open fixture lighting the parking lot at the intersection of S Monroe and Taylor St (mentioned 3 or 4 pictures back). An interesting fact came to light whilst looking at old GSV images of this area. It turns out that in front of the building with the white garage door (behind the tree to the right of the pic) there was another Westinghouse "Mainstreeter" on a pole similar to the one in roughly centre of the pic. Sometime between 2007 and 2013, seemingly as part of a streetscaping project, that pole was replaced with one of the davit arm/Westinghouse combinations seen in the rest of town, in a different position, not using the location of the old pole which was nearer that building. The replacement pole and arm can be seen behind the tree, at the lefthand side of the white door building. Interesting is the fact that, during the same streetscaping project, the city installed modern post top fixtures on N Monroe but seemingly used one of the fixtures it removed, at this location.
