Although a lot of the other series stuff on this page has been removed, there are some small bits hanging on. This regulator setup is at W Kirby and Neil in Champaign, at the university facilities yard.
This opposite side view shows the oil switch, the RCOC is on the other side of the pole.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus straddles the boundary between these
two towns as the name suggests, and the campus is home to quite a lot of vintage mercury and
incandescent series lighting.
This sequence of parking lot pics is of the Florida/Lincoln
playing fields parking, university lot F23 on W Florida Ave.
The lot lighting consists of a couple of dozen poles with twin arms and GE Form 101VR fixtures, in very good condition.
Some of the lot has these concrete poles with cobraheads, possibly as the lot was extended at some point.

There is a series regulator for the surrounding roadway lighting, located on W Florida.
It looks like the regulator (brown can) is fed from the utility transformer on the LH pole, probably as the primary voltage was changed at some point, and the city didn't want to buy new regulators.
A close up of the top of the arrangement- the uitlity transformer on the left, and at the top of the regulator pole can be seen a PET (potential equipment transformer) to provide 120V for the control circuit, and a metering transformer (brown unit with bushes).
A shot of the fixture at the west entrance to the lot- this one was unusual as it had a flat bottom lens.
The head is the same- just a replacement lens/reflector.

There are lots of series circuits in this part of the world- this 3 regulator pole is located on the east side of S Lincoln, between Nevada and Iowa St.
A closeup of the other side of the installation shows what's going on. There are 3 regulators, and 3 "RCOC" under current devices (other side of bottom crossarm), 3 oil switches to control the regulator (round and square cans with bushings on top),
also a metering transformer (middle crossarm, to the right) and the photocell also on the RH side of the middle crossarm.
If you follow the wire from the metering transformer upwards, you can see the primary feed to this pole from one of the 3 wires coming in from the right.
Another type of regulator with cooling tubes, this one located on S Gregory St outside the Astronomy building. The same arrangement as the others, with separate distribution transformer (behind 2nd pole from the left), PET for control supply and oil switch (again, on 2nd
pole from left) and regulator with RCOC bolted to it this time. The RCOC is a type made by the South Bend Current Controller Co.
Despite needing a coat of paint, the installation is perfectly functional and sound.
Closeup of the oil switch (brown can, bottom), PET (grey enclosure with bushes and weatherhead), and cutout for distribution transformer (top left).
Another 2-loop installation, this one located on S Goodwin between W Green and W Illinois, on a lot in front of Burrill Hall.
With all these pictured regulators, the actual series loops are fed underground via conduit heading dowm the pole.
The other side of this installation, the RCOC is on the left. It's possible the RCOC for the other loop (there are 2 regulators) is in one of the other smaller round cans.
