Rockville is a tiny town of 200 or so people, in the bottom lefthand corner of Utah, near the Zion National Park.
One of the things this town is proud of, is the streetlights it uses which consist of household lamps suspended on spanwires across the street. The lamps are protected by little homemade plastic hats...
The streetlights are even part of the town logo, as we found on the
side of this building. A fascinating, low cost solution to their
streetlighing needs!
Update Apr 2009: A recent visit (not by me)
notes that the lamps have been changed to A-shape CFLs.
