With the demise of so many auto lot and gas station fluorescent installations, it was interesting to come across a brand new fluorescent auto lot installation. It's at the used car lot of Palm Springs Motors, located at 69190 East Palm Canyon Dr (Hwy 111) which is actually Cathedral City, not Palm Springs.
These are 4 tube T5 FCO fixtures of unknown manufacture, and the light levels in this warm climate are really quite good. The old lighting installation can still be seen on Streetview, 1kW MH as you would expect. I wonder if we'll see more auto lots converting to installations like this, whether it be to reduce light trespass or energy consumption.

Update Mar 2018: A look at the latest GSV (May 2017) shows the fixtures changed once again, this time to LED. The fluorescents were doomed really as soon as they were installed as by 2009 LEDs were the future.
