Update May 2025: GSV shows the modern LPS fixture gone, replaced by what looks like an induction fixture, possibly Tanko Lighting, but the teardrops still extant. Looking at other streets, it's possible they are still LPS too
despite lamps not being made any more. So for the moment, they carry on.
Pacific Beach is just north of Mission Bay in San Diego, it's shown here to demonstrate there is
still some cool old lighting still around, even though we're nowhere near LA. These pics are from Diamond St., at the Mission Blvd. end, but there are loads of these old lights
and poles left on quite a few streets off Mission in this area. Notice the modern AE LPS fixture in the first pic across the street, this is more representative of the lighting
you'd find in this part of the world.
