Lots of old stuff in and around downtown Lubbock- starting here at the interchange of Hwy 289 at E Slaton, southeast of downtown. This is very unusual- the himast installation at this interchange is 3 poles, each with 15 Revere 'Cateye' floods. The remote ballasts can be seen also, they are HPS.
This is the only installation I know of, using these floods as himast luminaires.

Update May 2025: Another large series installation bites the dust, in this case sometime between Jan 2022 and Apr 2023. All replaced with LED now.
There is a lot of overhead wired series left in and around the downtown area- this for example is at Broadway and Ave L.

Looking north on Ave J between 17th and 18th.
We waited for this string to cone on, but it was faulty...
...so we moved across one street. This string was on, at Ave.K and 18th, again looking north. All mercury too.
Back at the E Slaton/Hwy 289 (the ring road) interchange, the Revere 'Cateye' himasts in operation. They are HPS and give a very good account of themselves, which probably explains why they've surived for this long without being changed for something more modern.
