Despite the LA BSL LED conversion program sweeping through the San Fernando Valley, wiping away a huge amount of the old lights in the past few years, there are a few examples of 'utilitarian' series incandescent fixtures left.This one is in a residential location at Amestoy and Covello, just west of Van Nuys airport. It is an older example, the head is porcelain. The Silverliner off in the distance is interesting too, as can be seen below.
At night, the teardrop is still trying to light this intersection, and the Silverliner can now be seen to be clear mercury.
