Joplin is in southwest Missouri, not sure how I found myself here but I obviously was, the pics are evidence I was there at some point! A couple of pics from round S Joplin/W 7th in downtown. Even though the lefthand pic looks like the wiring might not be series, a closer look shows it to be 2 single core insulated wires rather than duplex, and joins onto the uninsulated series loop further down the street.
The RH pic is a good look at how Joplin do their loop breakouts for each fixture.
These pics are of the overhead wired series loop on S Wall, north of W 7th again in the downtown area. The latest GSV (Jul 2016) shows all this stuff still untouched.
This regulator is located on the north side of W 8th St, between S Main and S Joplin. In addtion to the regulator and the oil switch on the left, the small half-cylinder at the top is a RCOC under current protection device.
On the left, a close look at at fixture loop breakout- the insulator can be clearly seen.
