SurvivingChecked on "as of" date (either in person or via latest GSV available), so can be assumed to be surviving at least as far as that date
as of Aug 2019Here's another in the (very occasional) series of "Old Incandescent lit Sportsfields". There are a couple of others in these pages, notably at Culver City here in CA, and Larned, KS. We do come across them occasionally on our travels.
This one is located in El Monte, north of the river, south of Durfee, at Klingerman St and Bryce Rd.

This appears to be the far end of the grounds of Maxson Elementary School and is part of what was once a baseball field, but I'm not sure if it's still used as such.
There are 3 poles, overhead wired, with some very old incandescent floods. None of the flood fixtures still had lamps as far as I could see.

The poles and fixtures are in very poor condition, but it can be seen that they were fed with 3 wire 240V, and the 120V floods were split between the phases.
Looks like this pole was the feed pole, there's a weatherhead and conduit heading downwards. The other 2 poles did not have conduit, only overhead wiring.

My guess is the only reason these are still here, is that they aren't really in anyone's way, and the school seems to have no need for night lighting of this area. If
the poles deteriorate any more however, they might get removed as a potential danger of falling. As to age, looking at the style of the fixtures, probably pre-WWII. They
certainly haven't been used for many decades, that is certain. The mild climate is the reason they've hung on far beyond their useful life.
