Firstly, a random sight from East Dayton, off the south side of E 3rd St just west of S Sperling Ave, was this GE teardrop. A closer look showed it was dayburning, the yellowed lens made this difficult to see.
If the wires hung from the arm of the righthand pole (LH pic) look like trolley wires, that's because they are. Dayton is one of the few cities in the US that still has a trolleybus system, and these wires were part of the 3rd St line Drury turnaround loop, named as such because it came out on Drury St. This probably also explains why this small alley had its own light installed.
This tunaround loop was decommissioned soon after my pic was taken, some time in 2015. The poles are still there, but the wires and arms have been removed. The light is still there, presumably as it's on a utility pole rather than a pole for the trolley system.

In downtown Dayton, a spendid sight, and one not seen in most US downtown areas these days- a small run of GE Form 109s on S Ludlow, between W 4th and W 5th St. As far as I know, they still work.
Update Mar 2024: GSV shows they lasted until Jul 2018, and were removed by Jul 2019

These last two pics are actually just into Centerville, a couple of miles south of Dayton. On the east side of Far Hills Ave, just south of E Whipp, there is a small shopping centre. These two incandescent fixtures were located either side of the south entrance on to Far Hills. They are rare these days, and mostly were seen on gas station lots. Indeed I can't remember when I last saw some in the wild like this. The incandescent lamp in one was still intact, as was the wiring at the pole bases. I didn't see them at night but it would have been nice to think that one with the lamp still worked. Unfortunately they were removed some time between August and October 2017, according to GSV.
