Chatsworth is at the very Northwest corner of the San Fernando Valley, going west on the 118 the next thing you'd hit is Simi Valley. Last year we looked for the few remaining GE Hillsiders the BSL posessed 8 miles or so South of here, and failed to find anything...however this year we were more lucky.

This is Fullbright Ave, got at by going as far East on Chatsworth St as you can, and making a left. It is a loop, and roughly half of it is lit with incandescent Hillsiders- there are maybe 8 or 10 of them. As you can see from the closeup, they seem to be multiple wired, as they've all got photocells, and the lenses are not in such good condition. I'd guess the lamps are 6000lm (405W) multiple.

They give quite a good even light at night, although the glare isn't too good at certain angles. Given the optics were designed especially for hilly streets, it's hard to see from this installation what the advantages are of going to all this trouble, not least the fact that this street isn't particularly hilly! Perhaps this is the reason they are so rare. They are a very unusual looking sight in the daytime, though!
