Some interesting pics here from the BSL storage shed. Here's the sort of new series lamp they're buying in (pic taken March 2007), these are Mexican made Philips 6000lm lamps.
Same case of lamps, you can see the C-2V filament.
This is how they came- not too well packed!
These cases actually say 3000lm, but they had 4000lm lamps in them.
The following pics are useful as an ID guide to the various luminaires out there, but it was interesting to see that a couple of the BSL's ID labels were wrong! Interesting ones here are the Form 109 which they describe as 'reverse', and the Joslyn on thr bottom row.
Here are some lovely old GE and Westinghouse teardrops, the ID plates on these are all correct as far as I know. The one on the bottom left is a Westinghouse Reflectolite Senior.
Slightly different angle to the previous, an OV-15 Silverliner, and inderesting to see the Wilshire luminaires labelled as 'GE 101 F-R'.
The clamshell and cobra side of the display, interesting here is the OV-20 on the bottom row described as a '2-piece' with an axial lamp and a glare shield- suspect this is the earliest type ov OV-20?
Here's a nice closeup of a new Chinese made Philips ('W' branded) 2500lm series lamp. C-2V filament, but really cheaply made.

There you go- proof these things are stilll being made in 2007...a great thing to see.
This is an HPS conversion assembly for a series incandescent acorn post top fixture. It just plugs into the series socket, the 6.6A isolation transformer/ballast is above, and the HPS socket on the top. The cutout button is not present- the 2 prongs are tight together- you push the cutout between them to hold them apart.
The AE-25? America's most beautiful luminaire? Who are they trying to kid!
The reason this is specified as 'incandescent' is because it has been supplied without gear, presumably because it's destined for a series installation, with the isolation transformer in the bottom of the pole.
As you probably noticed, this is not an OV-15! It's a Hillsider.
