Update May 2025: At some point between 2021 and 2024 the BSL finally replaced these oddities, there are now no Hillsiders left in the LA metro area as far as I know.
These GE 'LA Hillsider' luminaires are located at Angelo Circle which is north of Sunset, west of Benedict Canyon Dr, and a small portion of Angelo Drive north of this. There's
a little confusion over what this precise location is actually called, the LA Times' 'Mapping LA' project calls this Beverly Crest, but the portion of Angelo Dr I'm talking
about actually goes from Benedict Canyon, up into Beverly Glen. Either way, since the demise of the Chatsworth Hillsiders in late 2009/early 2010, as far as I know, this is the
only installation of Hillsiders in LA County.

This one on Angelo Dr is the northernmost one, just south of Maybrook. As you can see, the rest of the lighting is unremarkable, FCO HPS cobraheads which appear to be multiple wired too. I don't know if this whole area was once lit with Hillsiders, but for some reason this one series loop of now ultra- rare lights remains...but for how long?

There were some great old porcelain head teardrop fixtures too, on the power poles. These predate the crook fixtures by quite a few years and were probably the original lighting for this section of street.

This is a reverse view of the first teardrop of the two pictured, showing an unusual 15kW series regulator with an oblong tank (pole top ones are usually cylindrical in LA).

This is around Hutton Dr, which was also lit with series incandescent teardrop fixtures, but on more conventional, newer poles. A crook fixture on Bendict Canyon Dr is in the foreground.
