Always fun to find abandoned stuff like this. This particular installation is in the high desert northeast of the LA basin, west of Adelanto which is one of several towns off Hwy 18 about 100 miles east of Lancaster. At the southeast corner of US-395 and Mojave Dr is this huge lot, which consists of lighting and not much else.

Looking at GSV from various dates, this lot was graded in 2008-9 and some roads were paved, some pads put in for what look like commercial and retail, and parking lots. It's the lighting that you see here, for those lots. For some reason the lighting was put in early in the building process, but for whatever reason (probably the financial crash of 2008), nothing else was done with this site. Some of the poles as can be seen have succumbed to vandalism, or the weather. The lot still had a realtor sign on it as late as Apr 2025, so it might see some use yet. In 2012 there was a reator sign on the opposite side of the road promising "Adelanto Towne Center" with 280k sqft of retail and a Target, but that sign disppeared the following year.
