LED installations

Salford seem to have found a main road (old Group A) LED fixture they are happy with, after using the fixtures by Canadian company LED Roadway Lighting (see below) for residential roads for a
couple of years.
These are fully loaded (80 LED) Philips Luma 1 fixtures which have been raised up with 6 foot extensions from the old Philips SGS203 150W HPS fixture mounting height. Colour temperature is 4000k+, same as the residential LED fixtures in the pictures below.

They are branded "Indal" but it's all Philips these days. I think WRTL deal with these fixtures in the UK.
If the sticker is to be believed, they are running at 94W.

LED installations are spreading fast in this part of the world. Whereas other councils round here (Wigan, Warrington) have gone for WRTL Stela LED installations, Salford has taken a different route and used LED luminaires from a Canadian company, LED Roadway Lighting. These fixtures are made in the UK, under license.
This is their SAT-26S fixture, with half the LEDs on each bar fitted, running at 26W. These replace 70W HPS Urbis ZX1 drop lens fixtures. These fixtures are somewhat different to other LED ones around for a couple of reasons. Firstly they are open bottom, with a one piece casting with heatsink for the top, and a drop down gear tray between the LED bars. The bars themselves appear to have their own covers. Secondly, they are self- colour aluminium, something that gives them a vintage look which is a welcome change from other LED fixtures! They remind me of a Westinghouse MO-10 or something from BBT or Eclatec you might find in France.
Unfortunately putting these full cutoff fixtures on pole spacing designed for semi cutoff makes for a rather patchy scene at night.
